Some of the websites below offer great resources for free, while others require a subscription or membership to dig deep. Many let you do some searching before you have to pay, and most have free or low-cost trials.

RootsWeb - This site is a part of Ancestry, a paid subscription genealogy research tool

Swedes in Texas - This site has many resources for the Swedish-Texan researcher.
It also provides access to Swedes in Minnesota, Illinois, New York, and Massachusetts.
Bureau of Land Management Land Grant Records - Governments site that lets you search for land grants by state.
Gen Forum - Search genealogy records and links by surname or locale in this site.
Find a Grave - Search this site to locate the graves of your ancestors. You can also
add cemetery and tombstone information on your ancestors at this site.
Genealogy Gems Podcasts - Listen to a whole library of podcasts on genealogy research topics
Genealogy Gems videos on YouTube- Family history research strategies and
creative display ideas.
David Rumsey Historical Map Collection - The David Rumsey Historical Map Collection has over 10,000 maps online. The collection focuses on rare 18th and 19th century North and South America maps and other cartographic materials. Historic maps of the world, Europe, Asia, and Africa are also represented. Collection categories include antique atlas, globe, school geography, maritime chart, state, county, city, pocket, wall, children's, and manuscript maps.
