Some of the websites below offer great resources for free, while others require a subscription or membership to dig deep.  Many let you do some searching before you have to pay, and most have free or low-cost trials.

We'll keep adding to this list, and plan to eventually make it searchable, so check back for more resources as we build!

BBC Webwise - Learn what's available online to get started on your family tree, including some great British databases you might not know existed

USGenWeb - Check out this site for resources for all 50 states, access to paid researchers
and more

RootsWeb - This site is a part of Ancestry, a paid subscription genealogy research tool
(come in to our library to use our subscription for Ancestry for free!).  But RootsWeb offers tons of free links and guidance, so check it out, too.

Family History Expos.com -  This site informs you of family history and genealogy
conferences offering the latest in genealogy skill building, professional research
assistance, technology developments, vendor interaction, networking opportunities
and unlimited fun!

Family Search Products and Tools - Download Personal Ancestral File (PAF), a free genealogy record keeping program.  Or learn about other tools like Ancestral Quest and Legacy.

Swedes in Texas - This site has many resources for the Swedish-Texan researcher.
It also provides access to Swedes in Minnesota, Illinois, New York, and Massachusetts.

Bureau of Land Management Land Grant Records  - Governments site that lets you search for land grants by state.

Gen Forum - Search genealogy records and links by surname or locale in this site.

Find a Grave - Search this site to locate the graves of your ancestors.  You can also
add cemetery and tombstone information on your ancestors at this site.

Genealogy Gems Podcasts  - Listen to a whole library of podcasts on genealogy research topics

Genealogy Gems videos on YouTube- Family history research strategies and
creative display ideas.

David Rumsey Historical Map Collection   - The David Rumsey Historical Map Collection has over 10,000 maps online.  The collection focuses on rare 18th and 19th century North and South America maps and other cartographic materials.  Historic maps of the world, Europe, Asia, and Africa are also represented.  Collection categories include antique atlas, globe, school geography, maritime chart, state, county, city, pocket, wall, children's, and manuscript maps.
